Current Intentional Faith Development Offerings for Adults
Ongoing Sunday School Classes
Journey Class – this class is led by Harold and Sue Steele. They lead discussions on scripture and topical studies, which are chosen by the class members.
Feasting on the Word class – this class is led by Amanda and Pete Rasche. Their discussions are centered on lectionary readings, which are the scripture readings chosen for each week’s worship services. This allows for more in depth exploration of scripture and the themes presented in worship.
Not so Quiet class – this class is led by Don Hotz. Discussions focus on scripture and various topical studies, which are chosen by members of the class.
Short-term studies
How to Study the Bible – this class is led by Mary Shumard. They study various ways to explore scripture with a focus on understanding where the scripture came from, what the context of the scripture is, and what it means to us today.
If You Want to Walk on Water You Have to Get out of the Boat class – this class is led by Janet Grover. This class focuses on the call to discipleship and the amazing things that can happen when we take steps on faith.
Nooma class – this class is led by Angie Martin. The focus of this class is a series of videos produced by Pastor Rob Bell of the Mars Hill Church. The videos consider daily situations and how we can be God’s people in the contemporary world.
Beyond the Prophets – this class is led by Jim Meyers. This class is studying the Old Testament prophets and the contribution they made to scripture. Though thousands of years old, these scriptures have a lot of meaning for our lives today.
